Hendra Setiawan Boen is a co-founder, principal, Managing Partner, and the Head of the Dispute Resolution Practice Group and Intellectual Property Practice Group of the firm. He reads law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Trisakti. Hendra has been practising law since 2005, and registered as a Receiver and Administrator for Bankruptcy with the Ikatan Kurator dan Pengurus Indonesia (IKAPI). Hendra is a member of the Advocacy Body at the Central Executive Board of the Golkar Party (Badan Advokasi pada Dewan Pimpinan Pusat Partai Golkar) as well as the Deputy Secretary-General of Sentral Organisasi Karyawan Swadiri Indonesia (SOKSI).

Hendra was a partner in a well-known and reputable litigation law firm, and previously worked for a first-tier corporate firm considered as one of the pioneers in the field of capital market law in Indonesia, before moving on to practice with an Indonesian first-tier litigation firm. There he handled numerous multifaceted complex litigations, be it corporate litigation or intellectual property litigation. He also actively contributes his time to write law articles, published in national-scale media, as well as a book on law. He speaks Indonesian and English.  

Hendra has extensive experience in a wide variety of commercial-litigation-related work, ranging from company issues, marine insurance, charterparty disputes, banking matters, property matters, financial and investment related claims, capital market issues, construction disputes, bankruptcy proceedings, anti-monopoly disputes, energy and resources matters, telecom matters, maritime issues, plantation issues to infrastructure sectors. He also specializes in intellectual property protection and advises in numerous class-action suits and citizen lawsuits as well as cross-border international arbitration. 1. PT Aneka Tambang (Persero) Tbk, a state owned company as the plaintiff in the proceeding before the Administrative Court of Kendari, Sulawesi with regard to the cancelation of the exploitation mining rights of the company by the local administration.

2. Salim Group in the defense proceedings before the Central Jakarta District Court, South Jakarta District Court, and Gunung Sugih District Court over the sales of the Sugar Group Companies.

3. Himpunan Kawasan Industri Indonesia (HKII) in the Judicial Review to the Supreme Court of Indonesia against the Letter of Director General of Tax concerning Value Added Tax (VAT) Treatment of Bonded Industrial Zones.

4. Indonesia Petroleum Association (IPA) in the Judicial Review to the Supreme Court of Indonesia against the Government Regulation No. 79 of 2010 concerning Cost Recovery and Income Tax for Upstream Business of Oil and Gas.

5. PT Jasa Angkasa Semesta, Tbk in the Counter of Civil Review concerning the misapplication of Value Added Tax law by the Director General of Tax of the Republic of Indonesia.

6. BUT Mitsui & Co., Ltd on the Counter to Civil Review filed by the Director General of Tax of the Republic of Indonesia concerning the misapplication of Withholdings Tax law (PPh).

7. PT. Krakatau Steel (Persero) Tbk, in a case of Citizen’s Lawsuit brought by Prof. Dr. Adler Manurung, et al, before the Central Jakarta District Court.

8. Conocophillips Inc., Ltd. as the plaintiff in the proceedings before the Jakarta Administrative Court to annul a state administrative decision issued by BPHMigas.

9. PT Reckitt Benckiser Indonesia, as complainant, in the hearing before the Komisi Penyiaran Indonesia (Indonesian Broadcasting commission), with regard to advertisements that allegedly violated the Indonesian Advertising Ethics (Etika Pariwara Indonesia).

10. Rhodes Holdings Pte, Ltd. in representing its local subsidiary in a dispute relating to heavy equipment lease agreement against an Indonesian mining company.

11. Astro All Asia Networks Plc, in a tort claim before the South Jakarta District Court as well as class action lawsuits before the South Jakarta, Surabaya and Medan District Courts, and also assigned to register and enforce an International Arbitration Award issued by the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) at the Central Jakarta District Court and filing for civil review against the decision of Komisi Pengawas Persaingan Usaha (Commission for the Supervision of Business Competition).

12. The Age Company Pty Ltd, as the defendant, in a class action lawsuit before the Central Jakarta District Court.

13. Kementerian Pemuda dan Olahraga (The Ministry of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Indonesia), in an administrative claim before the Jakarta Administrative Court brought by Nurdin Halid (former Chairman of Football Association of Indonesia/Persatuan Sepakbola Seluruh Indonesia-PSSI).

14. PT Hitachi Construction Machinery Indonesia, in an industrial design dispute before the Commercial Court at the Central Jakarta District Court.

15. PT Harsono Wira Tanik, in a dispute involving hundreds of industrial designs before the Directorate General of Intellectual Properaty Right of the Republic of Indonesia.

18. PT Prestasi Arthareksa Mulyapersada qq. PT Karya Batubara Kalimantan as the plaintiff before the Singapore International Arbitration Center (SIAC) with regards to coal purchase agreements.

19. PT Procter and Gamble Home Products Indonesia in a dispute relating to sale and purchase agreement against an Indonesian consulting firm.

20. PT Symrise Indonesia, Symrise Singapore Pte Ltd, and Symrise Germany GmbH in its defence against a tort claim brought by PT Mega Surya Mas before the South Jakarta District Court.
